UPDATE: 4th June

Updated Arrangements For The NSW-VIC Border

Further to the email distributed by ClubsNSW on Wednesday, 2 June 2021, ClubsNSW has been informed that reciprocal arrangements will no longer be implemented in relation to the relaxation of restrictions for residents of regional Victoria.

This means that residents of regional Victoria — including Victorian residents of border communities — are required to self-isolate upon entry into NSW.

Residents of Victoria are not required to self-isolate upon entry into NSW for a range of prescribed reasons, including:

  • Working in NSW
  • Exercising outdoors
  • Obtaining food or other goods or services for the personal needs of the household.

Accordingly, residents of border communities cannot enter NSW to participate in recreational activities in a club such as eating, drinking and gambling.

However, residents of regional Victoria may enter a NSW club to work or exercise outdoors, such as by playing golf or bowls. Residents of border communities who enter NSW for a prescribed reason are exempted from completing a declaration.

ClubsNSW understands that the prescribed reason of “obtaining food or other goods …” does not permit Victorian residents to consume food and beverages inside a club.

ClubsNSW is aware that these arrangements will unfortunately impose hardship on NSW clubs located near the border, particularly where a high proportion of regular customers reside in Victoria.

ClubsNSW will continue to engage with NSW Health and other government stakeholders to advocate for arrangements which would allow residents of border communities to travel within their community to enter a club in NSW.

The Barham Services Club is fully operational.

UPDATE: cluBarham is now permitted to have 1 person per 2 metres square  on premises within current guidelines. This allows entry of up to 1000 patrons at any one time.
Regular NSW Clubs entry requirements are in place with the need for Membership Cards and/or Photo Identification to be presented on entering.
CluBarham is welcoming back members and visitors to the Barham Services Club, with a limit of 300 patrons at any one time after its temporary closure due to COVID-19 restrictions put in place by Federal and State Governments.
As we make our way forward to resume business, there are still risks that we as a community need to manage. Going forward will be a community effort to maintain a healthy environment for all, which is why stringent measures will be in place to make sure we can minimise the risks associated with Coronavirus.
To create a safe environment for patrons, staff, suppliers, contractors and their families, we all must work together in adhering to good hygiene and social distancing practices while the threat still remains.
To manage the risk, cluBarham has put in place protocols and procedures.
• If you are sick, please stay at home.
You may not have Coronavirus, but the spread of any cold or flu like illness will cause many to have to take precautionary measures such as COVID-19 testing and self-isolation until cleared. If you are visibly showing signs of illness, you will be refused entry or asked to leave the premises.
• Sanitising of hands.
Sanitising stations will be situated throughout cluBarham premises, where as a condition of entry, all must sanitise their hands.
• Social distancing
Whilst on cluBarham premises, social distancing must be adhered to between all. Seating throughout our premises is in-line with the recommended 1.5m social distancing rule. Floor markings are also in place to guide patrons in areas where queues may form.
• Recording information
On entry, all members must swipe their card and visitors must sign in providing name, address and contact number. All guests must also swipe out or sign out when exiting the premises to ensure the maximum number of patrons at any one time does not exceed 300. Photo ID or other proof of NSW Residency is required for entry into cluBarham facilities.
• Washing of hands
Hygiene practices must be adhered to by all. Washing hands for at least 20 seconds before and after consuming food and beverages can assist in decreasing the risk.
• Self-declarations
Those staying in cluBarham accommodation or are visiting suppliers or contractors, will have to declare that they are:
• Free of symptoms
• Have not traveled from overseas in the past 14 days or knowingly had contact with a person infected with Coronavirus before being able to utilise services or commence works and supply.
cluBarham’s overriding priority is to maintain a safe environment for all. Please follow direction from staff as they will be assisting in not only protecting themselves, but also yourself, other patrons and the wider community. Those who do not follow the COVID safe instruction will be asked to leave the premises to assist in maintaining an environment that all are comfortable to enjoy. While restrictions have eased, the threat is still present.
