cluBarham Redevelopment Plans

cluBarham set for redevelopments.

cluBarham has recently commenced the redevelopment plans of both the Services Club and the Golf Club House. CEO Jason Wallace said “ It is important to refresh the venues to meet member and visitor expectations. The Services Club is being rewarded with State, National and International Bowls events through investment in infrastructure.

We view the Golf Club House redevelopment as an important continuation of tourism to our twin towns and with the Golf course in pristine condition and investment in providing a significantly better course and a renewed Club house we will position the Golf Club to attract significant State and National Golf Events in the future.”

Pickleball is also on the radar for development at the old Golf Club- bowls greens. Plans are included to introduce 6 acrylic Pickleball courts with lighting to meet National Pickleball tournaments. Jason said, “ The recent Koondrook Pickleball Association formation will see a new home of Pickleball at the Golf Club House, there are over 70 members and growing.” “Our tourism market is in the demographic that utilise Pickleball for competition and enjoyment. These courts add a new dimension to attract over night and weekend stays and is also a great way to exercise for the over 55 market.

The staging of the redevelopments commenced in July 2024 and is set to conclude during the winter of 2026. The investment in the capital works program is over $4 million and we are delighted to be able to use local trades for the redevelopment works with our main local lead in Tyson Webb coordinating other local trades. Jason said “ Strategically we are positioning both venues to maximise tourism potential and enable the new emerging market of major sporting and major event opportunities, especially under the twin domes at the Bowls arena.

The venues redevelopments also set the opportunity and excitement for increased accommodation and other opportunities as we develop plans for Cobwell Street and the Barham Lakes.
